Bangkok........

The fight from Narita to Bangkok was pretty gueling. I had one of the center seats in a row four seats long bad food bad movie, but it was all worth it. Bangkok is really fun. I'm at the internet access point in our hotel, the Zenith. It's a pretty upscale place that we booked online for cheap. There is a beautiful pool area on the roof. It's right in the middle of the action, and there is plenty of that. More soon....next stop Pataya, a beach resort on the Gulf of Thailand, I think....gotta buy some mapping software. More soon.......

North Shore to Narita

At this writing I am on a Five hour lay over in Tokyo’s Narita airport. The last couple days on the North Shore of Oahu were beautiful and as relaxing as any time could be. The true laid back Hawaiian feel just takes over, and you could just sit and watch the ocean forever. My sister Mo and my niece Jessica met us in Waikiki, and after a really nice lunch at the Waikiki Yacht Club we headed out for the North Shore. We stayed at Mo’s friends house just off the beach at a place called Three Tables. It’s a beach where three flat topped reefs appear out of the water at low to medium tide. It’s located North of Wiamea, and south of Pipeline. I’ve never been to these beaches during the summer. It’s a bit strange to see these world-renowned big wave beaches with little two-foot waves rolling in. It’s still beautiful, a place. I wanted to never leave when Icame here when I was younger. This time I have places to go and people to meet. So after a day of shopping in Honolulu Mo and Jess dropped us off in Waikiki so we could catch a flight out at 10:30 the next morning. Then something really cool happened. While waiting in the boarding area Harv and my names were called out over the loud speaker. We both looked at each other wondering if we had been bumped or something bad happened. When we got up to the desk we found out that we had been bumped, up to business class. We still don’t know why (my theory is it was Harvey’s mohawk). After we got on the plane we found out how cool business class is, big huge sleeper seats, free drinks, private TV’s and just all around great service. Now were here in Norita on a five-hour layover before we leave for Bangkok. Kind of a long a long layover, but cest la vie. We arrive in Bangkok at nearly midnight, so I’ll let ya know how all that goes on my next post.

Honolulu

First stop Honolulu: Harvey and I arrived in town at 8:30 and went and found a hotel room at the Ohana towers. A nice place with a great view. It’s been years since I’ve been to Honolulu, but it hasn’t changed that much. Still reminds me of Hollywood Blvd. at the beach. As I write this is our second day in Honolulu. Last night was a total blast. We went to a sports bar called Legends and watched the Lakers lose. The good part is we got tipped off to the best party in town. At the Outrigger Waikiki hotel they have a bar on the beach called Dukes. It definitely was a fun place to party. The people are so friendly here. We met up with the guy who told us about Duke’s, and he introduced us to his table. Three girls from Georgia and a couple guys trying to pick them up or get them drunk then pick them up. Also met some fisherman guy from Samoa, and this dude Diego who could not stop buying drinks. I asked the Samoan dude to watch my chair while I went to the head. When I came back he was ready to kill this military guy who took the chair without asking. We ended up spending maybe ten bucks the whole time we were there. Diego was buying shots and beers, and at one point a bottle of Dom Perignon appeared. Tiny bubbles……….. We left about eleven to go to some strip club, which was fun, but the best part of the night was Duke’s. So now it’s Monday morning, and I’m a little hung over, but still smiling. Today we go to the North Shore I love the North Shore, It so like the Hawaii you dream about…Coconut palms sandy beaches and big waves…well sometimes I’ll let ya know at my next posting.
Bye for now.
