A perfect 10
I got back to Bangkok to find out I missed the practice final exam on theory in Gem ID…no big deal they re-scheduled me for 9 AM Tuesday. That would have been perfect if my alarm clock would have co-operated. I woke up 20 minutes after I was supposed to start the exam, so I got myself together and went and took the exam. It went OK, I still haven’t got my score back. Today we had the practice lab exam. To pass you have to correctly identify 10 stones out of 10. I came to this school pretty confident, but this class made me realize how hard gemology can be. We have practice sets of stones that we go through in the lab, and I have never correctly identified all 10…until today. I was totally surprised when I got my score back 10 out of 10. My teacher must have been a bit surprised as well. She put exclamation marks after some of my correct answers, and after the 10/10. Next week I take the real exam, hopefully I can do it again.
